When I was single I used to wonder if Arranged Marriage was better or Love Marriage was better? But was never clear on it! Now that I am married I understand it better!
Well first of all, to cite an example : India was one of the very few countries which had very less divorce rates even though majority of the marriages were arranged.
So does that mean arranged marriages are better? Hmmm not really! So are love marriages better? Hmm no!! Both are equal!
In love marriage you find your love by yourselves either by a dating service or through friends or any other means. Good enough - then you date the person and both of you decide to get married committing to each other!
In arranged marriage your parents match the horoscope and introduce you to the guy or the gal. Then you date for a while and agree to get married by committing to each other! Well in love marriage you might get more time to date. Eg: You might marry your high school sweetheart!
Irrespective of whether you did love marriage or arranged marriage - after marriage you all are considered to be the same husbands and wives! From here on you all go through the same path. After a while you will hit the saturation point if you forget to remind your love. If you FORGET TO love your soulmate, FORGET TO work everyday on your marriage, FORGET TO appreciate what you have in hand, FORGET TO express your love everyday and FORGET TO believe strongly that he or she is the one then irrespective of whether you did love marriage or arranged marriage your relationship is going to crash!
You might be busy with your career or kids or any other stuff. Still take time to tell your partner how much you love them everyday and give them at least one appreciation in any of their acts every day. This will strengthen the bond and keeps the passion burning between you two. These are some wonderful things that I learnt from my hubby!
